The 10kΩ Linear Rotary Potentiometer – 3-Pin, 6mm Shaft is a versatile variable resistor designed for precise analog control in electronic circuits. With a nominal resistance of 10kΩ (±20% tolerance) and a linear taper (Type B), it offers a smooth, proportional change in resistance from 0Ω to 10kΩ over a 300° rotation, making it ideal for applications requiring consistent adjustment. The potentiometer features three pins: two outer terminals (fixed ends, 0Ω and 10kΩ) and a middle wiper terminal (variable resistance), easily integrated into breadboards or PCBs. Operating at up to 200V DC (50mA max, 0.1W power rating), it’s safe for low-voltage circuits like Arduino (5V or 3.3V), Raspberry Pi, or ESP32. Common setups include a voltage divider, where the outer pins connect to VCC (e.g., 5V) and GND, and the wiper to an analog pin (e.g., A0), yielding 0–1023 readings via Arduino’s 10-bit ADC. The 6mm diameter D-shaft (15–20mm length) with a knurled or slotted end supports various knobs, and the M7 or M10 threaded bushing allows panel mounting (nut and washer included). Measuring ~17mm x 17mm x 24mm (body, excluding shaft), it’s compact yet durable, with a carbon film resistive element ensuring ~10,000–50,000 rotation cycles. This RoHS-compliant component operates from -10°C to +70°C and is perfect for volume control, LED brightness adjustment, motor speed tuning (e.g., with your A4988 and NEMA 17 motor), or calibrating sensors like the LDR or SW-520D module. Pair with a 16×2 LCD to display resistance values or use with the SN74HC595N to control multiple outputs. For Arduino, use analog Read(A0) to read wiper position. Note: Avoid high-current applications to prevent overheating, and secure the shaft to prevent slippage during rotation.
