Description
The 1N5822 Schottky Diode is a robust silicon diode designed for high-efficiency rectification and low-voltage applications. With a maximum repetitive reverse voltage (Vrrm) of 40V and a forward current (If) rating of 3A (with a peak surge capability of up to 80A for 8.3ms), it’s perfect for switching power supplies, reverse polarity protection, and solar panel circuits. Housed in a DO-201AD (DO-27) axial package, the 1N5822 features a low forward voltage drop of approximately 0.55V at 3A, thanks to its Schottky barrier technology, which also ensures virtually instantaneous switching with negligible reverse recovery time. It offers a power dissipation of 3.75W and operates within a temperature range of -65°C to 125°C. This RoHS-compliant diode is widely used in battery chargers, LED drivers, and DIY electronics projects like Arduino or Raspberry Pi builds, where efficiency and current capacity are key. Its axial leads are solderable, and the cathode is marked with a band for easy polarity identification.
