Description
The 801S Vibration or Shock Sensor Module is a highly sensitive micro shock detecting sensor designed to detect vibrations or shocks in any orientation. Utilizing a gold-plated resistive element that changes resistance when motion is detected, it operates as a switch-like device, outputting a series of random HIGH pulses when triggered. The module’s output is normally LOW, with an onboard LED that is normally ON and flickers or turns OFF momentarily upon detecting a shock or vibration, taking up to 2 seconds to return to a steady LOW state. Powered by a 3-9V DC supply (commonly tested at 3V to 5V, though 9V is specified), it features an adjustable potentiometer to fine-tune sensitivity, making it adaptable to various applications.
This module is ideal for anti-theft systems, mechanical vibration detection, and bullseye counting in shooting ranges, offering a durable design claimed to withstand 60 million shocks. It includes a digital output pin (D0) that switches HIGH or LOW based on a user-defined threshold, with some versions offering analog output (A0) for real-time vibration monitoring on certain models. The compact board, approximately 20x32x11mm, includes mounting holes for flexible installation. For Arduino use, connect VCC to 3.3V or 5V, GND to ground, and D0 to a digital pin (e.g., D2), then use basic digital read functions to monitor the state. It operates effectively from -10°C to +50°C and is suitable for security alarms, earthquake detectors, or vibration-based data loggers.
Note: Software debouncing may be needed to filter random pulses, and the module’s sensitivity should be calibrated to avoid false triggers in noisy environments.
