Description

The ZMCT103C 5A AC Current Sensor Module is a compact, high-precision device designed to measure AC currents up to 5A with excellent accuracy and consistency. Based on the ZMCT103C IC, this module operates on the principle of magnetic field variation between primary and secondary coils, functioning as a current transformer with a 1000:1 turns ratio (5A input produces 5mA output). It features a donut-shaped design with epoxy encapsulation, where the wire to be measured passes through the central hole, acting as the primary coil. The module includes an onboard precision microcurrent transformer, a sampling resistor, and an OP07 operational amplifier circuit for signal amplification, with an adjustable potentiometer to fine-tune the amplification factor (up to 100 times, max output ≤1/2 VCC).

Operating on a 5V supply, it provides an analog voltage output proportional to the AC current, measurable via an MCU’s analog input pin. The module has four pins: two grounds (to be shorted and connected to the MCU ground), VCC (+5V), and OUT (analog output). It supports a linear range of 0-10A, with a rated output current of 5mA at 5A input, and a winding DC resistance of 155Ω at 20°C. With a maximum primary current of 20A at 50/60Hz and a breakdown voltage of 4.5kV, it ensures high galvanic isolation and low noise.
